The Barn at Brynich is a stunning Grade II listed building, refurbished to the highest standards.
With its original oak beams, open fireplace and flagstone floor (with under floor heating), The Barn will be a truly unique setting for your wedding.


Our five-star self-catering accommodation sleeps up to 22 of you for the whole weekend – giving you space and time with your friends and family to make the most of the delightful setting and this important occasion.


The Barn is licensed for marriages and we can accommodate up to 120 wedding guests seated for the wedding ceremony. Your ceremony can be as personal to you as you like, with your choice of music, readings and decoration.

The reception and evening celebrations will be tailored to your needs. We can accommodate a maximum of 120 guests for a formal, seated daytime reception  and up to 150 guests for a less formal evening celebration when using our new venue room the Grain shed.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

What is your maximum capacity for guests?

The Barn – 80 day, 100 to the evening (including couple)

The Grain Shed – 120 day, 150 evening (including couple). Additional hire cost.

 

Can we have our ceremony here?

Yes, we have a wedding licence. You can choose to have an indoor ceremony in The Barn or an outdoor ceremony under the pergola, in the courtyard or on the lawns. There is an additional fee for outdoor ceremonies. The maximum capacity for your ceremony will be dependant on which room you choose for your wedding breakfast.

 

How long do we have the venue for?

You will have access to decorate the venue the day before your wedding 9am-5pm. The day of your wedding staff will be onsite two hours before your ceremony until 12.30am. Access to the venue for one hour to remove your decorations before you check out. This will normally be the Monday morning for Saturday weddings and the day after your wedding for mid-week weddings. Occasionally we may have to alter this, but we will discuss this with you as soon as possible. Please pass this information on to any suppliers you are booking including venue decorators, florists etc so they can plan set up and collection of their items within these times.

 

What is the difference between The Barn and The Grain Shed?

The Barn is our original room and is licensed for ceremonies for up to 120 people including the couple (when hiring the Grain Shed for your wedding breakfast). The Barn has a maximum capacity of 80 guests for wedding breakfasts and 100 evening guests. The Grain Shed is our new room recently renovated. It can be used to increase your number of guests, enhance your wedding day experience or provide a place to host your drinks reception. Booking the Grain Shed is an optional extra for smaller weddings (less than 80 guests) and has to be booked to accommodate guest numbers over 80 at an additional cost. When hiring the Grain Shed only the one room will be open at any given time.

 

Do you have disabled access?

Yes, the main door is fully accessible, we have a ramp we can put outside for access to the lawns and our Woolpack cottage is fully accessible.

 

What time does the bar and music finish?

Our bar stops serving and the music finishes at 12:00 Midnight. The Barn must be vacated by 12.30am.

 

What is included in the hire price?

  • Exclusive use of the Venue and lawns on the day of your wedding.
  • Ample pre-wedding planning time with our experienced wedding co-ordinators.
  • Access to decorate the venue the day before.
  • Wedding co-ordinator for the duration of your wedding day.
  • Two members of staff for the duration of the day for bar and drinks service.
  • Use of our furniture. If you require different or additional furniture you can source this. A handling charge may be added where Brynich staff are required to arrange and move additional furniture. Furniture cannot be moved between rooms.
  • Cake table and cake knife.
  • Glassware and wine coolers.
  • Free car parking for you and your guests.
  • Table linen is not included.

 

Do you allow candles and confetti?

We do allow candles provided they are in secure holders to catch the wax. We do not allow candle sticks or candelabras unless they are battery operated. You cannot have real candles on the registrars tables, only battery powered, during the ceremony. Biodegradable confetti is absolutely fine for indoor or outdoor use. Foil confetti and table décor is banned due to the environmental impact.

 

Do you have a list of recommended caterers?

Yes, we have a list of catering partners and can point you in the right direction depending on your style and budget. Occasionally we do allow caterers that do not feature on our list, but we must have a meeting with them in advance to ensure they are happy with our terms and conditions before you book them and that we are satisfied they will provide the level of service we expect for your wedding day.

 

Do you allow Buffets?

Yes we love a buffet, we ask that buffets are supplied by one of our catering partners. Some of the evening options come unmanned, on these occasions there will be an additional charge for Brynich staff to clear. 

 

Do you allow drones?

Use of drones is only allowed with a valid operator ID and Public liability insurance. Please discuss with your co-ordinator.

 

How many people do the cottages Sleep?

The cottages sleep up to 22 people, (23 if using the sofa bed in the Woolpack). You have the cottages for 3 nights.

 

Are dogs welcome in the venue & cottages?

Yes, we welcome well-behaved dogs in the cottages and venue (except during food service). There are plenty of wonderful walks accessible in the Brecon Beacons from right on our doorstep. We can also recommend dog-friendly pubs to visit during your stay. Please note you will be responsible for cleaning up after your dogs and will be charged additional fee if any extra cleaning is required.

 

Do we have to have the cottage accommodation?

Yes, as they are situated close to the Barn and are within the grounds used during your wedding day. However, you can sell these back to your guests at a rate of your choice. They also create the perfect space for your wedding weekend here at Brynich.

 

What time is Check-in and Check-out?

The cottages will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival. Your stay is for three nights and time of departure is 10.00am.

 

Do you allow fire works?

No sorry due to the stress they can cause to local livestock, but we can point you in the direction of a company who does laser shows.

 

Do you allow bouncy castles or other inflatables?

Yes, we require public liability and PAT test certificates from the company supplying the equipment. Please ensure it is always supervised by a responsible adult if the company are not manning it. There is no charge if the company is supplying a generator to run it. We can run one inflatable off a standard domestic socket for a charge, please check with your wedding coordinator.

 

Drinks packages & Corkage

We do not have set packages, we prefer to discuss your requirements and create something personal to you. We have a large range from champagne, sparkling wine, cocktails, bottled beers, to mocktails and soft drinks.

We allow you to provide your own table and toasting wine for a corkage fee.

 

Is the bar Cash and Card?

We accept both cash and card at the bar.

 

Is there heating?

Both rooms are insulated and are fully heated.
